Frances Leonard

District Councillor for Sandridge Ward

About Frances

I have been very proud to represent Sandridge Ward since May 2007, it is a role that I very much enjoy and to which I devote a large amount of time and energy.

During my time on SADC, I have served on many committees and task and finish groups.  Committees are where the majority of the work of elected Councillors takes place. I served on a scrutiny committee for nine years and sat on two planning committees, chairing planning referrals for two years.

In 2016 I had the honour of being elected Mayor, an unforgettable experience where I did my very best to serve the community.  I also managed to raise £20,000 for my nominated charity, Herts Young Homeless.

In May 2018 I joined the Cabinet as portfolio holder for the Environment, a very wide ranging role but one that chimes well with my personal interests. I sit on Jersey Farm Woodland Park Management Committee and an envionmental subcommittee of Sandridge Parish Council.

Needless to say probably the most important part of my work involves working with residents on issues that are important to them and I hope that those of you that I have helped are pleased with the work that I have done. Rest assured that I will continue to promote the best interests of Sandridge and Jersey Farm.
