About Gill

Member of St. Albans District Council, representing Wheathampstead and member of Wheathampstead Parish Council both for a number of years. She is interested in Planning on both councils but also involved in the Licensing, Housing Liaison and Nomansland committees at District.

Gill served two years as Deputy Mayor of St. Albans and District meeting many interesting people who give so much to the voluntary sector and getting to know Mayors and Chairs across the county.

She has lived in Wheathampstead since 1961 attending St. Albans Girls School, the old Further Ed. and working in St. Albans before changing careers and attending Teachers Training College. She first taught at St. Helens Primary School in Wheathampstead and after having her family she mainly did supply teaching.

Her hobbies include bellringing and flower arranging.  Until recently she was a member of St.Helen’s Church Choir. In the last few years she has welcomed visitors to the Clock Tower in St. Albans – such folk being called Clockateers!
