Conservative District Council Candidate for Harpenden East
My family has lived in the area for four generations, I went to school in the town before vocational education at St Albans Building College, leading to South Bank Polytechnic.
I was first elected to St Albans District Council and Harpenden Town Council more than 20 years ago and served Harpenden residents as an elected member for over a decade. I enjoyed servicing as Harpenden Town Mayor in 2003 and am now an Honorary Member of the Harpenden Trust, an Honorary Townsman and an Honorary Alderman of St Albans District Council. I am also a Trustee of the Friends of the Elderly, a charity helping people in later life enjoy more fulfilling lives, and a Commissioner of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, the home of the Chelsea Pensioners. During my year as Mayor, it was humbling to see how so many Harpenden residents help others in need. The kindness all-around us is inspiring and has motivated me to do more for society.
Professionally, I am a Chartered Surveyor with over 35 years’ experience planning, creating, and operating built assets. I was previously a senior executive with a leading global design and consultancy firm and am now the Executive Chair UK’s the leading developer of later living accommodation. I am also Chair of a built asset consultancy, a Director of a specialist healthcare management consultancy, and a Director of a social housing provider.
Much of my leisure time is spent with my wife and son when not watching rugby or cricket.
