District Councillor for Wheathampstead

About Sandra

I have been privileged to represent you as a District Councillor for the last five years.

I believe the role of an elected councillor is to serve the needs of  all local residents. I have worked hard to advocate for, and represent, local residents of Wheathampstead  on a wide range of local issues.  These have included: Housing & Planning; Parking & Traffic congestion; Speeding traffic & Road safety; Aircraft noise; Threat to Bus services; Cycleway extensions; Conservation concerns.

As a District Councillor I have been a member of the Community, Environmental & Sports Scrutiny committee, Plans North & Planning Referrals committees and a number of scrutiny Task & Finish groups. This has given me experience and knowledge to work with residents on a variety of issues.

I am an enthusiastic participant in the life of this village, particularly its Heritage.  As a member of Wheathampstead History Society I was delighted to lead on our recent research project and Exhibition, funded by a Heritage Lottery Grant, to commemorate the role of the village during the Great War.

I will continue to listen to your views, concerns and advocate on your behalf to achieve local solutions.
