District Councillor for Harpenden East
I’ve lived in Harpenden since 1985, my wife owned a business in Harpenden for ten years and I’m a shareholder and director of Lyndhurst Financial Management Ltd based in the High Street where, along with our Hitchin office we employ 30 people. Our daughter grew up in Harpenden and now lives in London.
I’ve been involved with Harpenden Cricket Club since 1986 and captained most of the sides. Having been Chairman for fifteen years I am now President and proud that we are redeveloping our pavilion to provide the community with space to use when cricket isn’t being played.
I’m treasurer and a trustee of Harpenden Connect, the charity that runs the Harpenden Hopper community bus service.
Since September 2016 I’ve been a governor of Harpenden Academy and am currently the Chair. I also am a business adviser for the Young Enterprise company programme at Sir John Lawes School.
Two years ago I became a community member of the steering group to help residents develop the Neighbourhood Plan. During those two years I’ve come to realise how much living in Harpenden means to me, specifically how we ensure the town develops to benefit all residents particularly the young.
